BWI AI AUTOMATION CASE STUDY · CHALLENGE 01

Partner resume books, from request to delivery.

A partner asks BWI for members to consider. Today that means searching a spreadsheet, chasing people to check their details are current, pasting resumes into a document and emailing a PDF, with no record of whose information went where. This prototype turns it into four steps that take minutes, and keeps that record.

1

Brief

Claude, then staff

Claude turns the partner's message into structured criteria, adds the partner's own firm to the leave-out list and flags what to confirm with them. Staff check every field.

2

Matches

Rules, then staff

Rules screen every member for opt-ins, conflicts, active membership and profile freshness, then rank the rest on the criteria the partner actually specified.

3

Book

Claude, then staff

Claude drafts the cover letter and member summaries from pseudonymised profiles. Staff edit them beside a live BWI-branded PDF, and approve by name.

4

Delivered

Staff, recorded

The book goes to the partner with an expiring reference. Every action is logged, and each member can see where their profile went.

What it demonstrates

The interesting part of a resume book isn't the document. It's deciding who may appear in it, proving they agreed, and being able to say afterwards who received what.

Consent is enforced in code

Members opt in per kind of opportunity. Staff can leave someone out, but nobody can put someone in who opted out.

Stale data is held back

Profiles older than 180 days are blocked until the member confirms them through a private link, in the same step as opting in.

Conflicts are caught

A member is never shown to their own employer, or to a firm on the partner's leave-out list.

Confidential job seekers stay hidden

A member exploring quietly appears as “Confidential (private equity firm)” everywhere outside BWI.

Explanations cite their source

Every reason Claude gives points at the profile field it came from, so staff can check it in one hover.

Claude never sees who is who

Candidates reach the model as codes: C01, C02. No names, no emails, no confidential employers.

A match, as staff see it

Written by Claude

New York healthcare buyout VP with 8 years, a Wharton MBA, and direct specialty pharmacy carve-out and behavioural health value creation experience.

  • Vice President at a private equity firm, matching the target seniority band from Seniority
  • Private Equity with buyout and middle market strategies from Strategy
  • Led diligence on a $310M specialty pharmacy carve-out from Track record

This member is job-hunting quietly, so her firm is never named outside BWI. Claude was given her profile as “C01”, with no name or employer.

Shared passwords stand in for real sign-in. In production, staff would use Google Workspace SSO and members would get magic links to their own profile only.

Try it in three minutes

  1. 1Open the Northbridge request and extract criteria. Northbridge adds itself to the leave-out list.
  2. 2Find matches. One strong candidate is blocked because she works at Northbridge.
  3. 3Ask a member with a stale profile to confirm it, open her link, and watch her move into the ready list.
  4. 4Shortlist three, draft the book, approve it and deliver, then read the activity log.
